Academic Update from the Head of School
It is with great anticipation that I announce to our Emek family the hiring of our new General Studies Principal, Mr. Richard Hof. I would like to thank Mrs. Gita Hirsch, Mrs. Michelle Andron and Rabbi Dovid Morris, members of our search committee for the perseverance and thoroughness they exhibited sifting through the many applicants who applied for this position. Not only did Mr. Hof impress us all with his wealth of educational knowledge and vast educational leadership experience, but even more importantly his positive disposition and impressive communication skills. We believe that with Mr. Hof on board as part of our new Administrative team, we have taken great strides to restore the sense of partnership that parents and faculty must feel to successfully educate our children.
Richard Hof | Biography | General Studies Principal
In his thirty-five years as an educator, Richard Hof has taught all grades K-6, served as a division head in Los Angeles for five years, was Assistant Head for eight years in Saratoga, and most recently led Beacon Day School in Oakland for three years as Head of School. He also sits on the Board of Trustees for Mid-Peninsula High School in Menlo Park. Mr. Hof grew up in the San Fernando Valley and earned his Masters degree in administration from Pepperdine University. He and his wife (who is also a Head of School) have two adult children and are the proud grandparents of three boys. Mr. Hof looks forward to getting to know the Emek community and working with parents, staff and children to insure that all students succeed.
