Hoshen Malachi

My name is Hoshen Malachi, and I am 19 years old. I grew up in Netanya, a beautiful city on the Mediterranean coast of Israel, and I am one of five siblings. I have a passion for learning and creativity. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and especially singing. My favorite color is blue in all its shades, which I find both calming and inspiring. I am truly excited to begin this year and look forward to building meaningful connections and contributing in every way I can.
Avigael Murciano

My name is Avigael Murciano, I am 19 years old, and I live in Kiryat Arba, just south of Jerusalem. I am blessed with two brothers and two sisters. During my first year of National Service, I volunteered with an organization called Simcha LaYeled, which supports and uplifts children facing illness. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I am truly excited to come to Los Angeles, meet the students of Emek, and become part of the wonderful community here. I look forward to a meaningful, joyful, and successful year together.
Tehila Akiva

My name is Tehila Akiva. I am 19 years old and live in Yavne, a small city in central Israel that is home to a diverse community of people. This year, I completed my first year of national service in Netanya, where I worked with youth at risk. I truly enjoyed this meaningful experience and am deeply grateful to Hashem for giving me the opportunity. I come from a large family of nine siblings—five brothers and four sisters—and I am right in the middle, the “sandwich child.” I am very excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to meet you!
Salamlak Mekonen

My name is Salamlak Mekonen. I live in Be’er Sheva, Israel, and during my first year of national service (volunteering), I taught Judaism and Jewish holidays at a secular elementary school. I come from a big family with six brothers and three sisters, including myself. I consider myself a very curious person, which inspires me to try new things and explore different hobbies. Some of the activities I enjoy are playing guitar and singing, knitting, reading books, and learning new languages—mainly Spanish. Beyond all of this, I am truly excited to join Emek and to meet the children, parents, and staff!
